The news that came on Monday was devastating but not surprising: An MRI on Dustin May’s right pitching elbow showed damage to his ulnar collateral ligament. The Dodgers announced that their young fireballer will undergo Tommy John surgery on May 11 in Los Angeles. It takes 12 to 15 months for pitchers to recover from Tommy John surgery.
